YHWH
The Torah is the foundational text of Scripture, comprising of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The word "Torah" comes from the Hebrew root meaning "instruction" or "teaching," rather than merely "law," reflecting its role as divine guidance for life. Traditionally believed to have been given by YHWH to Moses at Mount Sinai, it includes narratives of creation, the patriarchs, the Exodus from Egypt, and the covenant between YHWH and Yashar'el, along with 613 commandments (mitzvot) guiding religious and ethical life.
